Rising Football Star

Maddie Phillips brings her experience of elite football to Three Rivers Academy.

Maddie joined Chelsea's u13s Centre of Excellence (COE) team aged 12. She is currently in her 7th season at the club and in her second year in the Ladies Reserves team.

Maddie first became involved with the club at primary school when she attended an after school foundation club that Chelsea ran every week. After attending this for nearly three years she moved onto their development training sessions, which were invite only. After 6 months of trailing and training with the team twice a week, whilst still playing for her local team - Molesey Juniors on Sundays, she was signed at the end of the season into the Chelsea u13 girls’ team.

Maddie has played in multiple positions during this time, starting as a part-time goalkeeper/part-time winger during her days at Molesey, then going into a right wing position in her early years at Chelsea, moving into an attacking right full back role, then a centre half and finally she now usually plays on the right side of a back 3. A range of experience that proves most valuable!

In her 9 and a half years of playing football she has competed for club, borough, county and country. The club has moulded her into a punctual, professional and ‘loud’ individual as they set very high standards for their players.

Maddie brings elements of professionalism, knowledge and experience at the ‘top end of the game’ into the Three Rivers Academy Football team as they begin their 2017-18 season.
