Pupil Premium
The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England.
It’s designed to help disadvantaged pupils of all abilities perform better and close the gap between them and their peers.
Summary of the main barriers faced by eligible students
The barriers and challenges disadvantaged students may face at school can be complex and varied; there is no single difficulty faced by all.
We have identified, in the main, the following to be powerful barriers to our disadvantaged students achieving their potential:
- Literacy levels
- Behaviour for Learning
- Parental engagement
We aim to secure excellent achievement for those students who are eligible for the pupil premium funding.
Our TRA Disadvantaged Strategy Document 2021-2024 outlines our three year strategy to support those students who require additional support to achieve in line with their non-disadvantaged peers. This also outlines how we intend to allocate funding for this year to achieve these goals and the impact of the funding we used during the last academic year.
Funding is available to support students with Free School Meals.
Funding is also available to support Children adopted from care or who have left care and there is a Grant for Children of UK Armed Forces Personnel.
