Rewards trip - Surrey Scorchers
On Sunday 29th April, as a reward for their positive behaviour, commitment and contribution to Three Rivers PE and school sport we took 14 KS3 students to watch Surrey Scorchers take on Newcastle Eagles in the BBL at Surrey Sports Park. It was also great to see two of our year 12 students (Jack Fettes and Liam Langridge-Barker) and also members of our Three Rivers Basketball Academy being selected on the Scorchers bench. Our trip were also privileged enough to have a photo taken with the team prior to the tip off.
The game was a very competitive affair with the lead frequently changing hands. The final quarter saw the tension rise as the final seconds ticked with Newcastle leading and then Scorchers were awarded a free throw to win the game, which they successfully scored to the delight of the ecstatic home crowd!
A great trip and a very, very entertaining game of Basketball!
