KS3 Arts Options (Year 8)
Three Rivers Academy prides itself on its ability to help our learners take greater responsibility for their own learning. Year 8 students are given the opportunity to choose two Arts subjects that they will study in Year 9, with the remaining subject no longer studied for the duration of the year.
The three option subjects are:
- Art
- Drama
- Music
Although not selecting a subject from this list does not stop a child studying it at GCSE, a wide range of skills will be learnt during Year 9 that will enable students to be more successful in Year 10 and Year 11. i.e. if a child does not study Music in Year 9, they are not stopped from selecting it as a GCSE. However, the skills learnt in Year 9 music will make missing that entire learning year a huge barrier to being successful at GCSE.
The deadline for completion of options will be 9pm, Sunday 12th April 2026.
