Year 7

Form Tutors Students are primarily supported by their form tutors. Form tutors are the first contact point for parents, unless reporting an absence. Students will be in one of seven tutor groups and you will be notified of which one prior to starting. Each tutor group is made up of around 30 students from a variety of feeder schools. This is a really exciting opportunity to make new friends and get to know new people. Tutor groups are led by a form tutor. Students see their tutors in the morning for registration at 8.30am.

Year Lead

The Year Lead for the 2026 cohort is Mr S Buckman (please see the updated Induction Pack for further details. He will lead assemblies and visit tutor groups. He will be supported by a Year Manager. The Pastoral Manager is a non-teaching member of staff who is also a valuable support mechanism and will help support on pastoral issues.

Assistant Head (over-seeing Year 7)

One of the members of the Senior Leadership Team also takes responsibility for overseeing Year 7 and monitoring their transition.

Induction Day & Parents’ Information Evening

Students will be participating in an Induction Day on Tuesday 30th June 2026.

The arrangements of the day can be found below:

• Arrival time: 8.25am
• Uniform: Normal Year 6 school uniform
• What to bring: Pens, pencils and a packed lunch
• Nut-free school: Please do not include nuts in packed lunches- we are a totally nut free school.
• Breaktime: Snacks will be provided
• Lunchtime activities: PE activities available — students should bring trainers if they would like to take part
• Collection time: 2.50pm from the main entrance. A reminder that parents are not allowed on school site

Parents are invited to the Information Evening at 6pm on Tuesday 30th June 2026.
